Director of Multi-Measure Energy Group - Ballston Lake, NY

The Director of our Multi-Measure Energy Group will be responsible for the continued development and management of business unit which includes teams of business development, energy engineering and project implementation staff.

SmartWatt has plans to significantly grow the service offering and geographic locations of its comprehensive energy project service offering. This position will spearhead this growth plan by working closely with SmartWatt`s existing executive leadership team to develop strategic growth goals for the multi-measure energy group and furthermore will be directly responsible for the achievement of these strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a high level of quality engineering and implementation for all projects within business unit.
  • Development of a short-term and long-term business plan to grow business unit.
  • Immediately provide leadership to our existing multi-measure energy team.
  • Responsible for the profitable growth of business unit.
  • Growing additional multi-measure energy teams in new geographic markets.
  • Expert technical understanding of facility mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assuring that the energy engineering group enhances our customer relationships.
  • Development of energy modeling and calculation tools to be used by our energy engineering team.
  • Development of workflow procedures to streamline the energy engineering and project implementation process.
  • Enhancement of proposal development tools.
  • Be active in business development, including, assist in proposal presentations, attend strategic industry events, attend sales meetings, recruiting additional staff members, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 + years of managing a team.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Expert knowledge in understanding utility energy efficiency incentive programs.
  • Thorough understanding of facility/plant mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Intimate knowledge of energy efficiency auditing and energy efficiency calculations/modeling.
  • Expert in developing excel based energy modeling for multi-measure energy efficiency projects.

Computer Skills:

  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and familiar with AutoCAD.

Senior Energy Engineer - Ballston Lake, NY

SmartWatt Energy, Inc. is an energy service company that develops demand side energy reduction solutions for large commercial and industrial, small business and municipal customers.

The Energy Engineer position will focus on the auditing and design of multi-measure engineering projects. Typical projects will include: Variable Frequency Drives, Demand Ventilation, Replacement of RTUs, new BMS, New Premium Efficiency Motors, New Chillers, New Boilers, Heat Recovery Projects and various other ECMs.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing multi-measure, on-site, energy efficiency audits.
  • Based off of information gained during on-site audit, recommend energy-efficiency measures.
  • Completing Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) energy calculations and savings projections.
  • Developing ECM savings calculation templates.
  • Responsible for Utility incentive calculations and development applicable savings verification plan.
  • Co-present audit/design findings to Customer along with Project Development Staff.
  • Work with product suppliers and manufacturers to continue learning new products and solutions that can be incorporated into energy efficiency projects.
  • Work with our Project Management team throughout the projects life-cycle to assure that the implementation of project’s are installed as originally designed.
  • Provide technical support for our Project Development team during on-site customer meetings and conference calls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge base of energy efficiency methodology.
  • Experience working with Utility Sponsored Energy-Efficiency Rebates.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for customer interaction and report writing.
  • 10+ years experience in a Energy or Mechanical engineering position.
  • Job experience working on energy efficiency construction projects in commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Expert in developing excel based energy modeling on mechanical and electrical systems.

Computer Skills:

  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and familiar with AutoCAD.

Building Systems Energy Engineer

L&S Energy Services, Inc.

Job Description:

L&S Energy Services is seeking a Building Systems Energy Engineer to support commercial, institutional and residential energy efficiency and green building projects. The individual will support and lead tasks in the following areas:

  • Analysis and assessment of building and process energy systems
  • Analysis and assessment of energy efficiency improvements
  • Building energy simulation modeling (eQUEST, DOE 2.2, TREAT, etc.)
  • Commissioning and retrocommissioning of building energy systems
  • LEED and green building consulting
  • Building energy efficiency evaluations and audits
  • Reporting and client communications

Candidates should possess knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, green building and sustainability. Knowledge of renewable energy systems, on-site generation, construction practices, load management technologies, and general knowledge of energy marketplace issues is a plus.


Qualified candidates will possess a degree in building-related sciences, engineering, or architecture. Excellent written and verbal communications and job experience are essential.
