SUMMARY:Wastewater Energy Transfer - SHARC
DESCRIPTION:Aaron Miller from SHARC will present on Wastewater Energy Transfer systems. Wastewater represents one of the most underutilized renewable thermal resources within our communities and facilities. This session introduces SHARC Energy’s Wastewater Energy Transfer (WET) systems—engineered to harvest and reuse the inherent thermal value of municipal\, commercial\, and onsite wastewater as both a heat source and heat sink for space conditioning and domestic hot water. Through detailed case studies\, including district energy networks\, affordable housing retrofits\, and institutional facilities\, attendees will explore system architectures and integration with geothermal\, heat pumps\, and other hydronic systems driving measurable carbon and cost reductions across the built environment. \n\n\n\n\n\nAaron Miller is a seasoned professional with extensive experience working on both sides of the energy meter. He has spent the last decade focused primarily on deploying deep energy efficiency retrofits in multi-family residential\, commercial\, and industrial buildings across the United States and Canada. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis Lunch & Learn style event will be hosted by our partners CHA Consulting\, Inc at 3 Winners Circle\, Albany\, NY\, 12205. AEE CR would also like to thank both CHA and NYSSPE for sponsoring the PDH credits for this event.

SUMMARY:Introducing ZEOS-AI (The Operating System for Building Compliance and Energy Optimization) - ReWire
DESCRIPTION:Lee Evans will be presenting on the use of AI-powered software and hands-on energy advisory services to simplify the entire clean-energy journey—from understanding your carbon footprint to implementing solar\, batteries\, EV\, and efficiency projects. Come and learn about the emerging role of AI-enabled RTEM & DER Orchestration and how they are essential to scaling savings\, compliance\, and decarbonization. The presentation will also take a look into real world case studies to demonstrate how the platform translates data into action. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur presenter\, Lee Evans\, is the Head of Business Development for ReWire Group. Lee is a clean energy business development executive with more than a decade of experience advancing energy efficiency\, EV charging infrastructure\, community solar\, rooftop solar\, and energy management technology across the Northeast. Co-founder of ReWire and architect of its customer acquisition and strategic partnership model. Known for making complex energy topics accessible and building high-trust relationships with multifamily\, commercial\, mixed-use\, and faith-based organizations. Has occasionally spoken at clean-energy events and served on industry panels. Earlier career includes senior leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline where he developed expertise in strategy\, execution\, and team development. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nThis Lunch & Learn style event will be hosted by our partners CHA Consulting\, Inc at 3 Winners Circle\, Albany\, NY\, 12205. SUMMARY:NY-ISO Control Room Tour
DESCRIPTION:Event Sold Out! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAEE Capital Region | Exclusive Tour: NY-ISO Control Room\n\n\n\nJoin the Association of Energy Engineers Capital Region Chapter for a rare\, behind-the-scenes look at the nerve center of New York State’s electric grid — the New York Independent System Operator (NY-ISO) Control Room. \n\n\n\nThis exclusive guided tour offers energy professionals an extraordinary opportunity to see firsthand how New York’s bulk electric system is monitored\, managed\, and dispatched in real time. As grid complexity grows with the rapid integration of renewable energy\, demand response\, and distributed resources\, understanding how the ISO balances supply and demand across the state has never been more relevant to our work as energy engineers and managers. \n\n\n\nDuring the tour\, participants will observe the Control Room operations floor\, learn how grid operators respond to generation changes\, transmission constraints\, and system emergencies\, and gain insight into the tools and systems that keep the lights on for millions of New Yorkers. NY-ISO staff will guide the group through the facility and be on hand to answer questions about grid operations\, energy markets\, and the evolving challenges of New York’s clean energy transition. \n\n\n\nSpace is extremely limited for this event — registration is required and spots will fill quickly. This event is open to AEE members and invited guests. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to see the grid from the inside. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNew York Independent System Operator (NY-ISO)\n\n\n\n10 Krey Boulevard\, Rensselaer\, NY 12144 \n\n\n\nThe New York Independent System Operator is the nonprofit organization responsible for operating New York State’s bulk electricity grid and administering its wholesale electricity markets. Founded in 1999\, NY-ISO manages the flow of electricity across more than 11\,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines\, ensuring reliable\, safe\, and competitive power delivery to the state’s approximately 20 million residents and businesses. \n\n\n\nLocated in Rensselaer — just across the Hudson River from downtown Albany — the NY-ISO headquarters houses the state-of-the-art Control Room from which operators monitor grid conditions and dispatch resources around the clock\, 365 days a year. The facility is purpose-built for reliability and redundancy\, and the Control Room itself serves as the operational command center for one of the most complex and rapidly evolving electric grids in the nation. \n\n\n\nParking is available on site. Attendees should be prepared to present a valid photo ID upon arrival. No photography is permitted inside the facility. Please arrive promptly\, as the group will be escorted as a unit. \n\n\n\nPlease note that for this event:\n\n\n\n-First 30 minutes check-in and ID \n\n\n\n-RSVP by April 10th \n\n\n\n-limited to 30 attendees \n\n\n\nBe sure to arrive at 9:30 \, the tour starts promptly at 10:00am and check in will be required 15 minutes prior. \n\n\n\nUS Nationals will be required to provide valid Government Issued photo IDNon – US Nationals would be required to provide Valid Passport
