2025 New York State Building Code Changes

The AEE Capital Region Chapter is hosting a focused training on changes to the New York State Energy Conservation Code. This training provides an overview of the 2025 updates to the New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code, focusing on key changes that impact design, construction, and compliance.
Led by Jason Dodge, CEM, CPDT, LEED AP, the session will highlight new efficiency requirements, documentation expectations, and enforcement considerations for building projects across New York. Attendees will gain practical insight into how these updates affect project planning, energy modeling, and code compliance, helping ensure their projects meet the latest standards while maximizing energy performance and available incentives.

Jason Dodge is the Energy Engineering Manager at Danforth’s Buffalo office, where he leads a team of energy engineers in identifying efficiency upgrades and verifying utility performance across diverse projects. With more than 20 years of industry experience, including over 11 years with Danforth, Jason specializes in energy performance contracting, incentive acquisition, and code compliance. His portfolio spans municipal, K–12, higher education, healthcare, multifamily, industrial, and cleanroom projects. A New York State Code Enforcement Official and active member of AEE, ASHRAE, ASPE, and the International Code Council, Jason brings deep technical expertise and a collaborative approach to every engagement.
